Well in the Deciduous Forest their are 4 Temputure changing seasons. They are Summer, Spring, Winter, and Autum (also known as fall). In the summer the temperature is about 70 degrese or higher. Winter Is Possibly 32 degrese and below or mabey even higher! Animals There are many animals in the Deciduous Forest ! For example; The American Black bear, The Tawny Owl, and many more! The American black bear can run or climb faster than 25 mph the same as squirrels! Male black bears weigh about 150-600 lbs while the female black bear weighs about 90-300 lbs! A baby cub weighs about 10-16 ounces or 1 pound and the length is 8 inches long when a cub is first born.The Tawny Owl is extremely Special ! The Tawny owl has bluish black eyes And it has no pupils. When the sun goes down,the Tawny owl comes Out at night and hunts prey. Usually the Tawny owl eats small rodent such as Rats, mice, frogs, insects and more. They usually are spoted in the following places; Europe, Northwest africa, Asia, and China.The Tawny owl does not have teeth like humans, Birds have beak so therefore, the Tawny Owl And other birds swallow their prey whole.
Plants In the Deciduous Forest There are soo many plants and Animals. The trees and plants produce oxygen and Give life to humans and animals. Plants are important in many ways. In the Deciduous Forest, there are many leaves on trees. When fall (Autum) comes all the trees turn different colors such as green, yellow, red, and other different colors then adventually, fall off. There are many trees in the deciduous forest such as, Maple, Oak, Hickory, Beech and Evergreens! The Maple tree is the most common because that is how we get maple syrup to put on pancakes and other tasteful foods. Trees can usually grow up to 60 to 100 feet tall! In china, the trees live up to 4,000 years old !!! Amazing right !? In Euroupe there are only a few original trees left ! do you know why? many people cut down trees to make houses and to make paper etc. and people don't relize that they are harming the earth. My Animal The animal that I chose to learn more information about is the Duckbill Platypus. The first thing i learned about the Duckbill platypus is that a Duckbill Platypus has a Tail Like a Beaver and a body like an otter. The Duckbill Platypus has webbed feet so they are able to swim good! The Platypus is a unique animal. They dont have teeth because they have beaks so they can eat in 1 huge swallow.The Playpus grows up to 18 inches or 47 centimeters long and they weigh up to 3 pounds or 1.5 kilograms. Male Duckbill Platypus' have venom inside their hind ankles! Their hind ankles attracted a venom sac so they can attack their predetor when they feel threatend but, the Duckbill Platypus' doesn't have enough venom to kill an alive human. Location: The deciduous forest can be found in the eastern half of North America, and the middle of Europe. There are many deciduous forests in Asia. Some of the major areas that they are in are southwest Russia, Japan, and eastern China. South America has two big areas of deciduous forests in southern Chile and Middle East coast. There are deciduous forests located in New Zealand, and southeastern Australia also.
